April 4, 1945 — January 31, 2020

Ricardo Mata, Sr., age 74, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Ricardo Mata was born to Melquiades Mata and Maria de Consuelo Herrera on the 4th of April, 1945. He married Beatriz Lucio Mata on February 14, 1976 and became proud parents to five beautiful children. Aside for the love of his family, and pride for his work, he will also be remembered for his entertaining stories of his pastime. He had a memory like an elephant highlighting experiences in vivid detail to the very year, day, and time of any occasion. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
