Mary Lou Garcia

May 2, 1930-May 20, 2020

Mary Lou Garcia, 90, of Laredo, TX, entered Heaven’s gates on May 20, 2020.

A loving mother and a remarkable cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. For many years leading up to her passing, she loved to watch food tutorials and cooking channels during her spare time.  Having grown up on a ranch her whole life, she developed an immense love for chickens which consequently led up to her amassing a huge collection on chicken figurines that adorned her entire house.  She will be greatly missed as she was a wonderful mother.

Mary Lou is predeceased by her parents, Cabure and Clara Bonugli and her late husband of 34 years, Alberto E. Garcia. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters:  Beatrice, Ezequiel, Cabure, Emma, Harry, Florence (Sanchez) and Roberto Bonugli.

Mary Lou is survived by Debra De Laya and husband William (Bill) Clayton, Albert Garcia, Jr., and his wife Teina, Clara Aguilar and her husband Randy, Lamar Ramirez and her husband, David, and Patricia Flores and her husband Victor.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Albert, Samuel, Max, and Tomas Garcia; Denise, Melissa (Mathew) Maldonado, and Christina Aguilar; David Jr. (Claudia), Carlos and Amanda Ramirez; and Lazaro, Camilo, and Marcello Flores. She had 3 great-grandchildren: Anthony and Aaron Ramirez and Luke Maldonado.

We would like to thank Dr. Ildefonso Flores, for his unrelenting compassion and caring for our mother for over 30 years.  In addition, we would like to thank her caretakers, Magda, Hilda and Sylvia, who cared for our loving Mom and Grandmother with great love and affection.

A grave site service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, plot 28, 3600 McPherson Rd., Laredo, TX 78040.
