MARIA FELIX PEÑA

November 20, 1948- January 14, 2021

Mrs. Maria Felix Peña, 72, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Maria adored spending time with her family. Playing Loteria was a source of great enjoyment during her leisure. As a woman of devout faith, Maria loved going to church and worshipping in the home of God.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Manuel Peña; her daughter, Maria de Jesus Castro; and her parents, Maria Del Refugio Leos and Enrique Leos.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joel (Christina) Canela, Alberta Canela, Griselda (Reymundo) Lara, Dalia (Juan Dario) Vieyra, and Jose Luis Peña; her 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her son-in-law, Gilberto Castro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, January 18, 2021 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021 departing at 9:25 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Santa Rita de Casia Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Reymundo Lara, Jr., Luis G. Contreras, Juan Alfonso Vieyra, Jose Luis Lara, Alberto J. Contreras, Fabricio G. Contreras and Luis E. Canela.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Dr. Carlos Casas, Dr. Elsa Canales, and Dr. Michael Tijerina.
