James Lara

September 28, 1970 — September 8, 2021

James Lara, 50, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

James was a kind and gracious man with a heart of gold. He was someone who took so much pride in his work ethic, always giving 100% in everything he did. He worked for 22 years with Halliburton, took 2 years off to be with family. He then returned to work with the City of Laredo in the Solid Waste Services department. Within a year, he took the opportunity given as Supervisor. James’ pride and joy were his family and was always available for anyone who needed him. He was known to be a very unique individual and was proud to be “unlike most people”. His sense of humor was one of his best traits, being able to always make a joke or turn any situation into a hilarious one. He was a man of few words but once he spoke you listened to what he had to say. He was everything you could ever ask for in a person and with that, he will be so dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father; Basilio “Chilo” Lara, sister; Jessica Lara, mother-in-law; Olga Chavarria Jimenez.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Christy Jimenez-Lara , his children; Brianna Rae, James Henry, Karianna Yvette and his four-legged child Binks; his mother Julia Lara, father-in-law Manuel (Angie)  Jimenez; brother Danny Lara; sister Ruby (Salvador) Alvarez; sisters-in-law Celia Jimenez, Cindy (Alex)  Rodriguez, Caryl Jimenez and Cheryl Jimenez; brothers-in-law Manuel Jr. (Cecilia) Jimenez, Mike (Mari)  Jimenez; nieces & nephews Arlyn, Maryln, Salvador IV (Sarah), JD, Becky Alvarez; Federico III (April), Isela,  Michelle (Joe), Manuel III (Diana), Jennifer (Larry), Alejandro Jr. (Valerie), Roxanne, Alexis, Maegan,  Amanda, Jacob, Joshua; grand-nieces/nephews Mateo, Q, Ivan, Mae, Mia, Leo, Mailey, Maddie, JT, Mia, Mila,  Kathleen, Jaelynn, Kaylee, Trey, Aidan, Aliza, Kristabelle, Kiandra, Alanna, Amira. James is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
