Dora G. Reed, 77, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, April 17, 2021.

Grandma Dora was a generous and kind hearted woman who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She loved to tend to her garden and go to the Kickapoo casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Macedonio and Otila Gonzalez, and her husband Joe Manuel Reed, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughter, Joe M. (Claudia) Reed, Jr., Clara (Albert) Reed Torres, William Reed.  She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren who were her world, Sabrina A. Reed, Andrea A. Reed, Vanessa N. Reed, Jakoby I. Torres, Brianna D. Torres, Dominik Torres, Mikayla Marie Torres, Damian Reed and Abigail Reed; She is also survived by her siblings,  Maria Esther Gonzalez, Jesus (Janie) Gonzalez, Cristina (Johnny) Aldape, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, April 21, 2021 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning, April 22, 2021 departing at 9:40 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to: Dr. Eduardo Gomez-Vasquez, Serenity Hospice Care of Laredo including Valerie, Rosie and Fausto, her home-care providers, Dora Ligarde and Patty Gutierrez. Also, to the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital of San Antonio Texas.
