CIRIA G. GARZA

MARCH 26, 1944 -- JUNE 24, 2019

Mrs. Ciria G. Garza, 75, entered into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 24, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at her side.

She is being welcomed into heaven by her beloved parents:  Benito and Carmen Garza; siblings: Oscar Garza, Benito Garza Jr., and Hilda G. Rodriguez; daughter-in-law: Melissa Garza; and brothers-in-law: Hector H. Garza, Ramiro R. Molina, and Manuel J. Rodriguez, Jr.

Ciria G. Garza was born in Hebbronville, Texas on March 26, 1944. It was during her 7th grade year that she would cross paths with her future husband Francisco B. Garza, however, it wasn't until sophomore year that she and Francisco started talking and dating. Coincidentally, since both of their last names were Garza, they always had their school lockers close to each other and created a loving bond throughout their sweetheart high school years. They both graduated in 1962 and Ciria placed top 10 (#8) in her class. They eventually moved to Laredo, Texas and married on June 21, 1964 and were married for 55 wonderful years. Francisco loved Ciria very much and cared for her each and every day until her death, never leaving her side. It was a love that is beyond love; a soul connection in which no seam is visible.

Ciria studied at Texas A & I University majoring in Business and Accounting. Her smarts, intelligence, wit, and generous spirit allowed her to thrive in accounting, academia, civic and community work positions. Ciria started with the Federal Projects with Laredo Independent School District, was the first woman voted by City Council to be appointed as a Department Head for the City of Laredo as a Court Administrator, gave time and energy back to her community as an Adult Basic Education & English as a Second Language (ABE/ESL) teacher, truly enjoyed working as a Webb County Auditor, and prior to her retirement, loved her years as Bookkeeper at United High School where she was recognized as Para-Professional of the year. Ciria also ran as a candidate for Laredo City Secretary. She was involved with various community organizations such as the Elysian Social Club, was a strong believer in faith and love, and adored her family and friends. Ciria loved to entertain and hosted many celebrations with her beautiful friends and loving family members. She also loved to travel with Francisco and her family to many beautiful parts of Mexico and the United States.

Left behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her husband:  Francisco Baldemar Garza Sr.; children:  Ricardo Baldemar (Victoria) Garza, Carlos Roberto (Phillip Sadler) Garza, Rene Alberto (Nicole Pellegrino) Garza, Carmen Cristina Janecek, and Francisco Baldemar Garza, Jr.; daughter-in-law: Julissa Adriana Garza; son-in-law: Jay Janecek; grandchildren: Patricia Renee Garza, Leticia Rebecca Garza, Adrianna Elizabeth Garza, Rene Alberto Garza II, Cade Lyle Janecek, Chloe Christina Janecek, Bella Angelle Janecek, and Olivia Marie Garza; siblings: Anita Molina, Lydia Garza; and sister-in-law: Felicia Garza; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 to St. Patrick Catholic Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

All services will conclude after mass.

Pallbearers will be:  Carlos Roberto Garza, Cade Lyle Janecek, Rene Alberto Garza II, Phillip Sadler, Hector Ferreyro, Federico Gonzalez, Ricardo B. Garza, and Francisco Baldemar Jr.
