Aurora Luna

October 1, 1932 — July 24, 2021

Aurora M. Luna

October 1, 1932-July 24, 2021

Mrs. Aurora M. Luna, 88, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

She was a devoted wife, loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and even a mother figure to some of our friends.  She celebrated Holy Mass every Sunday and Holy Days at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was committed to sharing her faith in God and was happy to serve as a Curcio Team member. She loved music, loved to sing duets with her brothers and nephews, play the guitar and piano, and enjoyed telling funny stories. She was an excellent homemaker and costume seamstress and crocheting expert.  For many years she was a very active PTA member of Mary Help of Christians School.  Her smile and especially her laughter will remain in our most happy memories and in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Guadalupe Morales; husband Felipe J. Luna; and son Felipe J. Luna, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Aurora (Rufus) Menchaca, Andres (Adrienne) Luna, Teresa Luna, Hector (Rebecca) Luna; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Santos, Jr., numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, July 30, 2021 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, July 31, 2021 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
