Arturo Wise

Arturo Wise, 97, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom early Thursday morning, July 23, 2020.

Arturo was born in Asherton, Texas to parents, George and Romana L. Wise. He proudly served our country in the United States Army.  He worked for many years in the Gas Industry. He also started up his own business as a contractor and helped build the Hemisphere in San Antonio, Texas. Arturo enjoyed sports but his favorite amusements were baseball and he loved the thrill of gambling. He also had an inkling for sleight of hand and adored magic tricks. He was known for his great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes, he also enjoyed dancing. His zest for life and charming personality will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Romana L. Wise; wife, Rosa O. Wise; son, Luis Enrique Wise; great-grandson, Samuel Alejandro Camacho; brothers, Rudy, Tomas, Jesus, and Gilberto Wise; and sisters, Lucia Wise and Josefa Campos.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Maria Bravo Wise (Francisco P. Gonzalez) and Dora (Fernando) Camacho; grandchildren, Jessica (Jose) Bañuelos, Nick (Sylvia) Bravo, Mayra Camacho, Fernando Camacho Jr., Perla Wise, Melissa Wise (Chris Limon), and Luis Daniel (Jennifer) Wise; as well as by numerous great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Emma Castellano and Anita Wise.

Inurnment at the Veteran’s Section of the Laredo City Cemetery will be held at a later date.
