Antonio "Tony" Cesar Gutierrez

May 27, 1957 — November 3, 2021

Antonio “Tony” Cesar Gutierrez, 64, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, November 03, 2021.

“I felt an angel near today, though one I could not see.  I felt an angel oh so close, sent to comfort me.”

-Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Antonio “Tony” was a calm, peaceful man who adored his favorite dog ‘Chista’, loved to watch all of J.R.R. Tolkien movies, and enjoyed playing a game of chess during his free time.  He served our country with pride and honor when he joined the United States Navy.  Tony loved to travel whenever he could, but his heart was in Queretaro, Queretaro.  He loved to describe his trips to Mexico and loved to laugh about his adventures.  If Tony was not working or traveling, he truly loved staying home and sitting in his back yard.  He loved to watch the birds that would visit his home.  Tony will be greatly missed by all who loved him. The Tijerina family will always hold Tony in their hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Genoveva Rodriguez and Jose Cruz; his sister, Norma Gutierrez; in-laws, Cayetano Jr. & Dora Tijerina; sisters-in-law, Amalia “Maya” Garza and Dora Hickle; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Hickle.

Left to cherish his memory is his life partner, Fernando Tijerina; siblings, Juan J. († Rosa) Gutierrez, Linda Gutierrez, Oralia Gutierrez, Carlos (Maggie) Gutierrez, Myrna († Policiano) Guerrero, Reynaldo (Judy) Gutierrez, Delia Gutierrez, Jose Cruz ( Nina) Jr., Olga († Gilberto) Moreno, and Damien (Deborah) Gutierrez; brothers and sisters-in-law,  Tito (Aminta) Tijerina, Estela († Heriberto) Avalos, Raquel (Enrique) Valdez, Isaura († Rafael) Garcia, Cayetano (Rosalinda) Tijerina III, Carlos (Juanita) Tijerina, Linda (Alberto “Bimbo”) Garcia, Guillermo (Cynthia) Tijerina, Leticia (Bob) Henry, Hector “Tati” (Patricia) Tijerina, Omar (Rosaura “Wawi”) Tijerina, and Patricia (Rolando) San Miguel; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
