THELMA G. ROMO

April 5, 1934 – October 15, 2022

 Thelma G. Romo joined our Lord in his heavenly kingdom on Saturday, October 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Thelma was born April 5, 1934, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She was a beautiful woman, who once had the distinction of being crowned Queen of the Lyons Club in 1955. 

Thelma’s passion, to which she dedicated her life, was raising her grandchildren. She was a very loving, caring, and attentive mother and grandmother, as well as an Aunt and sister. After the passing of her loving husband of 51 years, she took over the family business of “Taxi International” which keep her life busy. She loved to spend time with her loving family at the family ranch. 

Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband Juan Romo, her parents Martiniano Gomez and Regina De Leon Gomez, siblings Francisca Gomez, Dr. Martiniano Gomez, Beatriz Gomez Frazer, Carmela Gomez Sandoval, Luis Homero Gomez, Delores Gomez, Jesus Gomez and two grandchildren, Ian Carlo Torres, and Ruby Romo. 

She is survived by her sister Rosa Elia Gutierrez and children, Jorge G. Kurczyn, Adriana (Gaby) Kurczyn Hemphill (Wesley), Julie R. Romo, Elizabeth Garza, Juan Carlos Romo, Sylvia J. Garcia (+Hector), Regina P. Garza (Andy), Sandra E. Romo, adopted daughter Carmela Zuniga, 27 Grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday evening, October 22, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
