ROSA MARIA SWISHER
May 29, 1925- April 1, 2023
Rosa Maria Swisher, 97, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Her life was a reflection of her unwavering faith in the Lord and commitment to the Catholic Church. She proudly served as a member of various clubs, such as the Pan American Roundtable and the Blessed Sacrament Altar Society.
For many years, one of her favorite activities was making “Hot Lunch” every Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament School, where all of her children attended. There, she served as the President of the Board and initiated, oversaw, and carried out several fundraising ideas.
The Sacred Heart Children’s Home was always close to her heart and she made certain to instill her compassion for others into her children.
Known as a beauty to behold, she loved modeling for local shops in her community.
She was also the President of Swisher and Sons Inc. in Mexico.
She was preceded in passing by: her beloved husband, William Dean Swisher, Sr.; her sons; Ross Swisher and Alfred Swisher; her parents Alfredo and Aurora Rodriguez; her siblings, Jesus Rodriguez, Alfredo Rodriguez, Guillermina Rodriguez de Sierra, Concepcion Rodriguez de Ramirez, and Aurora Kimmel Rodriguez; her aunt, Sarita Kenedy East, and other beloved family.
Left to cherish her memory are: her children, William Dean Swisher, Jr., Hettie Jane Swisher, Rose Marie (Frank) Alderete, Ross Alfred (Lillian) Swisher, James Damon (Debbie) Swisher, Kenneth John (Lisa) Swisher, Dawn (Victor) Swisher Delgadillo, Jessica (Ramon) Diez Barroso, and Paul Edward Swisher; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Swisher, Travis D. Swisher, Francisco Alderete, Analee Alderete, Alejandra (John) Attebury, Daniel Alderete, Melody Rose Swisher, Michelle Renee Swisher, Megan R. (Dr. Pedro) S. Vargas, Monica R. (Walter W.) S. Woodul, Jay Swisher, Jonathon Swisher, Damon (Thalita) Swisher, Jennifer Marie Swisher, Kenneth John Swisher, Joshua (Tyrah) Swisher, Jessica (Evan) Tupa, Danielle Campbell, Preston Campbell, Dr. Ramon Diez Barroso, and Juliana (Jose Jaime) Perez; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, April 3, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2023 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m.
A private cremation will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be: Preston Campbell, Dr. Ramon Diez Barroso, Jr., Travis Swisher, Ignacio Tovar Morales, Christopher Swisher, and Jesus Alfonso Santos.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Evan Tupa, Dr. Pedro Vargas, Walter William Woodul, Jose Jaime Perez, Daniel Alderete, Francisco Alderete, Jr., John Attebury, Kenneth John Swisher, Jr., and Joshua Swisher.
