Rosa Figueroa

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosa Figueroa, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and cherished member of our community. Rosa departed from this world on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. 

Rosa was a loving mother to 5 daughters and fur babies, the best grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, and devoted wife. Education was her passion. She dedicated her entire 42-year career to the United Independent School District where she touched the lives of her students who were blessed enough to have her as a teaching assistant and coach. She lit up any room with her dazzling smile and charming disposition. She was silly and kind hearted and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Briones and Eustolia Hinojosa; her brother, Rosalio Briones; and her brother-in-law, Pablo Lerma.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Erika Figueroa, Angela Figueroa (Perla Carranza), Ashley Figueroa (Ivan Martinez), Leslie Figueroa, and Kelly Nevarez; her grandchildren, Augustine De La Rosa, Uriah De La Rosa, Hunter Figueroa, Liam Martinez, and Evan Martinez; her siblings, Juanita Briones, Guadalupe Lerma, Jesus Briones, Leticia Briones, Fidencio Briones, Jorge Briones, and Andrea Briones; and her furbabies, Duke, Yzma, and Lilith.

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday evening, August 15, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Prayer Service will commence at 7 p.m.

A private cremation will be held at a later date.
