Rosa V. Alva
February 13, 1939-June 27, 2020
Rosa V. Alva joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom early Saturday morning, June 27, 2020. Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She valued sharing her time with her beloved family whom she loved most above all. An avid reader and walker until her last day, she was always ready for an adventure.
As the matriarch of a large family, Rosa always had warm food, a gentle hug, kiss to greet everyone who entered her home and anointed you with the sign of the cross as you left. She will always be remembered for her empathetic honesty, her beautiful strength, her acceptance of all, and her willingness to open her home to one more.
She is preceded in death by her father Juan Vasquez, mother Jesusa Flores Vasquez, and siblings Estella Villarreal and Juan M. Vasquez.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ricardo, sister Alicia (Samuel) Paez, children Rosa A. (Richard) Macias, Patricia (Luis) Buentello, Leticia (Sandy) Garza-Whaley, San Juanita (Ricardo) Venegas, Ricardo (Miriam) Alva, Jr., Jorge (Sandra) Alva, Gerardo (Cristina) Alva and her twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
