Roberto Mota, Jr., 78, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, February 27, 2026. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from October 31, 1972 to October 28, 1976. During his time in service, he trained as a Sub Sonar Technician Class “A,” carrying out his duties with dedication and honor.
He will be remembered for his commitment to his country, his strength of character, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Del Rosario Mota; his parents, Roberto Mota, Sr. and Olga Solis Mota.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Roberto Mota, III & wife Cleofe; his grandson, Roberto Christian Rodriguez Mota & wife Christina; his siblings, Santiago Alberto, and Dr. Maria Petrita Beaudoin; his nephew, Ivan Soung Mota; as well as numerous extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday morning, March 5, 2026 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be: Roberto Mota III, Roberto Christian Rodriguez Mota, Ivan Soung Mota, Santiago Alberto Mota, Juan Villarreal and Johnny Amaya.
