Roberto Gomez, 80, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
He was an educator for J.W. Nixon High School for twenty-six years and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Angelina Gomez, sister Hilda Lopez.
Left to cherish his memory is his lovely wife Maria Esther Gomez, children; Roberto A. Gomez, Maria Esther Gomez (Jonathan) Parker, Rolando (Megan) Gomez, four grandchildren; CaraNina Faith Parker, Lucas Mateo Gomez, Emma Rose Gomez, and Olivia Joy Gomez, siblings; Rosa Maria Gomez (Jose †) Ramos, Soledad (Antonio) Garza, Mary (Genaro) Rodriguez as well as numerous relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, October 17, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; a Vigil for the Deceased and Prayer Service will commence at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. with a chapel service and departing at 11 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel to Laredo City Cemetery.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Roberto A. Gomez, Rolando Gomez, Jonathan Parker, Mauro Lopez, Jr, Ezequiel Garza, and Genaro Rodriguez, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Antonio Garza and Thomas McCarty
American Legion Post 59 will be performing the Watch Honor Guard and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard the Full Military Honors. U.S. Army will be doing the Flag Detail.
