Roberto Garcia Luhrs

Roberto Garcia, age 57, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 17, 2026.surrounded by the love of his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Born in Laredo, Texas, on March 5, 1969, Roberto was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother and friend. He graduated from United High School and went on to earn a degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University. Throughout his life, Roberto was known for his kindness, dedication to his family, strong work ethic and unwavering generosity.

Roberto was preceded in death by his father, Jaime Garcia Gomez.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Margaret Dickinson Garcia; his children, Alejandra Del Carmen Garcia and Roberto Carlos Garcia; his mother, Maria Dolores Garcia; and his siblings, Lolita Cue (Juan), Jaime Garcia (Patricia), Eduardo Garcia (Dana), Jorge Garcia (Cristina), Adriana Funk (Alan) and Gabriela Hirsch (Greg), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory always.

Roberto is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Charles Dickinson (Maria del Carmen); his sister-in-law Carmen Dickinson Valls (Kenneth), and his nephew, Evan Valls. Their love and support were an important part of Roberto’s life, and they mourn his passing with deep affection.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Service, 719 N Loring Ave. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2219 Galveston St., for a Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Roberto Carlos Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Eduardo Garcia, Mitchell Starnes, Brian Grayson & Eduardo Farias.
