Ricardo Gomez, 83, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, October 17, 2024. 

Mr. Gomez dedicated 30 years of his life as a master electrician for Laredo Independent School District, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with and the projects he completed. His commitment to excellence and precision in his work will be remembered by all who benefitted from his expertise.

In 2019, Ricardo was honored and celebrated for his achievements as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Martin High School Tigers as the 1970 Big League Team. His contributions to the school's legacy were truly exemplary, showcasing his dedication to his alma mater and the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Miguel Gomez and Fidelia Cadena, brother; Miguel Gomez, sisters; Emma Juarez, Maria Luisa Guerrero, son in laws; Raul “Momo” Garcia and Ricardo Arce, grandchildren; Raul “Ru” Garcia, Jr. and Baby Lorraine Villanueva, great-grandson; Baby Matthew Garcia, mother-in-law; Emma Rodriguez.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 64 years of marriage Sara Alicia Gomez, children; Pat (Momo†) David Gonzalez, Norma (Mario) Gomez, Araceli (Ricardo †) Arce, Betty (Juventino) Gonzalez, Cindy (Alvaro) Villanueva, and Ricardo (Maria) Gomez; 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; siblings; Ramiro (Otilia) Gomez, Armando Gomez, Guadalupe (David) Arriaga, and Rosario Ramirez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, October 20, 2024 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday morning, October 21, 2024 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be: Alfredo Garcia, Mario Gomez, Jr., Hector Jalomo, Jr., Juventino A. Gonzalez III, Alvaro Villanueva, Jr., Ricardo Gomez, Ramiro Gomez, and Rene Gomez.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to his caretaker Petra Garcia.
