It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Reyes Hernandez, who departed this life on November 23, 2025, at the age of 67. Reyes was born on August 6, 1958, and lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and love for his family and community.
A proud member of the Army National Guard, Reyes exemplified the values of service and commitment. He pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a discipline that ignited his enduring love for technology and innovation. His expertise in computers was not merely a career but a lifelong passion that he shared with curiosity and enthusiasm, which brought him to work for the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
Reyes was a cyclist, finding joy and freedom on two wheels as he explored the world around him. He had a profound interest in genealogy, looking into family history and documenting the stories of ancestors. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in mentoring his sisters, ensuring they felt supported and cherished. Reyes is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ruperto Hernandez and Carolina Vidales, as well as his niece, Esmeralda Garcia, and nephew, Daniel Silva.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory. He is survived by his devoted siblings: Patricia Silva, Marina Garcia, Maria Hernandez, Norma Hernandez, Andrea Hernandez, Yvonne Espinoza, Guadalupe Hernandez, and Raquel Hernandez; nieces and nephews: Marisela Silva, Cassandra Garcia, Javier (Ashley) Garcia, Adela Luna, Christina Guerra, Ana Hernandez, Alicia Espinoza, Alejandra Espinoza, and Araceli Espinoza; grandnieces and grandnephews: Javier Garcia Jr., Jacob Garcia, Adalyn Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Michael Connel, Jeremy Wilder, and Liana Luna. He will also be remembered fondly by countless cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday morning, November 29, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Chapel Service will commence at 10 a.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, November 29, 2025, departing at 11 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
