Rene Xavier Rigal

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rene Xavier Rigal, a cherished father, respected supervisor, and devoted member of the Laredo community. He was born on March 24, 1963, and departed this life on March 6, 2026, at the age of 62. 

At an early age, Rene’s brothers introduced him to a new genre of music. It was then that he developed a lifelong passion for Rock and Roll. Rene’s legacy will forever be remembered by family and friends who will carry on his love for music. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Blanca Rigal.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Judith Rigal-McCann and Olivia “Oli” Rigal; his grandchildren, Victoria, Brandon, and Scarlett; his siblings, George Rigal Jr., Roger (Kim) Rigal, John H. (Irma) Rigal, Daniel (Rebecca) Rigal, and Michael James (Gabriela Vanessa) Rigal; and the mother of his children, Bertha Galvan; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday morning, March 12, 2026, where a Chapel Service will commence at 10 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
