REGULO VICENTE FERNANDEZ
MARCH 28, 1938 – MAY 6, 2019
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” ~ Philippians 4:13 Regulo Vicente Fernandez, 81, was called home by the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2019. He now rests in the presence of the most high, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and only joy. We continue to keep his memory alive in our hearts.
Regulo was born on March 28, 1938 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Paulino and Anita P. Fernandez. He worked for and retired from Leyendecker Construction as a Backhoe Operator. Regulo and his wife Juanita were devout Christians who always sought to bring the message and love of Jesus Christ to others. They were humble and always found a way to serve the Lord. In the early to mid-1980, both he and his wife decided to donate the land to establish a church in South Laredo on South Buena Vista Ave. It was this faithful effort that they gave so willingly to serve and please the Lord that established the Congregation of Templo Alfa y Omega that still stands today. Regulo had his character that will always be remembered by all whom he met and blessed.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Paulino and Anita Palacios Fernandez; siblings: Hector Mateo, Maria de la Luz and Paulino Fernandez, brother in law Harry Wieden.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Martin V. (Micaela) Fernandez, Alberto F. Fernandez, Ana V. Fernandez (Mario) Garcia, Mitchell Gerardo (Leticia) Fernandez, Jesus Edgar Fernandez, Genitza (Yoan) Fernandez, and Abraham (Janay) Fernandez; siblings: Maria de Jesus (Guillermo) De la Garza, Eli Nelly Weiden, Irene Fernandez, Dolores (Joaquin) Vasquez, in-laws: Dannie Bishop, Juanita Fernandez, Minerva Fernandez as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
