RAMONA GLENN ANDREWS MIRANDA

February 4, 1945- June 8, 2023

Ramona (Mona) Glenn Andrews was born on February 4, 1945, under the stars and full moon between Hearne and Bryan, Texas. She surprised her parents, Ellis and Julia Irene Barnett Andrews by making her way into the world before they could get to the hospital. Ramona joined our Lord in His Heavenly eternal home on Thursday June 8, 2023. She was 78 years old.

Mona was a 1963 graduate of Hearne High School. She received an associate degree in education from Sam Houston State University. Ramona enjoyed a career in education, teaching Bible studies, nursing, being a mom and grandmother. She lived all her life in Texas towns including Hearne, Freer, El Campo, Huntsville, Bryan and finally Laredo. She was of the Baptist faith and a grateful believer of Jesus Christ. She was dedicated to sharing her faith whenever she could. Ramona found joy in taking care of her grandchildren and others. She loved the stars and moon, perhaps because they were the first things she saw when she was born.  She loved to discuss the weather, watching old movies and always knew the score and standings of the teams that mattered most to her family. Texas A&M teams were of particular interest to her. Ramona was described by those who knew her as a sweet person with a beautiful heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Julia Irene Andrews, her sister Margaret Quinn, and her brothers, Alfred and Buddy Andrews. Left behind to cherish her memory are her older sister Mary Adams of Grainger, TX; daughters Elaine Joyce Sanchez of Laredo, TX and Miranda Lessie and her husband Jeff Lessie of Tampa, FL; son Derek James Miranda of El Campo, TX; grandchildren: Victor Sanchez, Rebekka Sanchez and Meagan Sanchez and one great-grandson, Lucas Sanchez.  Several nieces and nephews will also miss her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery located at 4410 FM 2446, Franklin, TX. A reception will follow at Best Western Hotel located at 208 N. Center Street, Franklin, TX.
