Mrs. Pura B. Averill, 97, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, October 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rosalio Ballesteros and Pura Santos, her husband Francis C. Averill as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Arleen M. Averill of Laredo, Rosie (Patrick) Hearn of Richmond; sons: F.C. “Pancho” (Anita) Averill, Jr. of Laredo, and Harold C. (Luz Maria) Averill III of Brownsville; grandsons: John P. (Laura) Hearn, Jr. of Houston, James (Randi) Hearn of Richmond, and F.C. “Cullen” Averill III of Palm Springs, CA.; granddaughters: Kathryn (Seth) Boschen of Katy, Frances (Duy) Tran of Katy, Arleen (Trey) Thigpin of Dallas and Cristina (Andres) Vela of McAllen; grandsons: Charles Jerome Averill of Fort Lauderdale, and Harold Carl (Meagan) Averill IV of Georgetown; as well as by twenty two great-grandchildren; her sister: Irma Garza, as well as numerous cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, October 26, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, October 27, 2025 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

A Private Cremation will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: John Hearn, Jr., James Hearn, F. Cullen Averill, III, Charles Jerome Averill, Harold Carl Averill, IV and John Patrick (Trey) Hearn, III.
