Placido Guerra

October 17, 1937 — April 13, 2018

Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

Mr. Placido Solis Guerra, 80, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Friday, April 13, 2018. He was born on October 17, 1937 in Rancho El Ebanito, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Placido was a man of great faith, a wonderful father, a hard worker, and a great friend. He served the Brownsville Independent School District as a Bus Driver for over 38 years, having retired and moved to Laredo, where he resided with his daughter, Leila.

He was preceded in death by his spouse: Maria Modesta Guerra; parents: Rogelio and Guadalupe Guerra; and brothers and sisters.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Rogelio Guerra, Leila Guerra Martinez, and Placido Guerra Jr.; grandchildren: Rogelio Guerra, Roberto Guerra, Leila Marie Guerra, Christopher James Guerra, Rogelio Guerra Jr., Mary Anne Vasquez Guerra, Raymundo Guerra, Abraham David Martinez, Isaac Daniel Martinez, and Christy Guerra; brothers and sisters: Rogelio Guerra Jr., Mario Guerra, Guillermo Guerra, Lala Fernandez, and Socorro Sosa; as well as a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a heartfelt contribution to the family via Joe Jackson Funeral Chapels. Envelopes will be made available during the viewing. The family will receive condolences on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels; where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will continue on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt, Brownsville, Texas 78251 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service which will be recited at 7 p.m.

A Chapel Service will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista Chapel then continuing with the Interment at Buena Vista Memorial Park.
