Pedro Martinez Jr.

Pedro Martinez, Jr., 14, entered into the kingdom of heaven and into God’s warm embrace on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. “Peter” as he was affectionately known was an Early College freshman at Dr. Leo G. Cigarroa High School. He was an inspired student capable of accomplishing all of his dreams and goals with the guidance and support of his hardworking parents, beloved grandparents, and his one and only brother, Noel, all of whom have always given him an abundance of joy and love.

Peter played football in Cigarroa and Kaffie Middle. He enjoyed athletics, and was a hardcore fan of football, MMA, boxing, and especially his passion, CrossFit. He was also a very creative individual who loved to produce rap music. He loved spending time with his cousins and grandparents.

His ultimate dream was to be successful and wealthy in life, so that he could travel the world and motivate others to reach their full potential. Our beloved son was someone who enjoyed life to the fullest. He instilled in us a deep impression of love and goodness, he was always steadfast to lend a helping hand and was always quick to aid his elderly grandparents. We miss him and hold him dear to our hearts forever until we meet him again in eternity. Your life was a blessing, and a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

He was preceded in death by: his great-grandmother, Esther A. Martinez; uncle, Salvador Martinez; as well as by other relatives.

Left behind to cherish his memory are: his parents, Pedro Sr. & Claudia Martinez; brother, Noel Martinez; paternal grandparents, Maricela Medina & Salvador Martinez; maternal grandmother, Bertha A. Garcia; maternal great-grandparents, Francisco Garcia and Maria Garcia; aunts, Maricela (Jorge) Sanchez and Esther Martinez; as well as by numerous cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Rosary and Vigil for the Deceased will be recited at 7 p.m. by Rev. Deacon Crispin Soto.

Funeral procession will depart Joe Jackson North on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 8:10 a.m. to St. Joseph Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m.

A cremation will follow at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: Pedro Martinez, Sr., Mario Bustos, David Moya, Gerardo Guerrero, Gerardo Olivares, Sergio Sanchez, Sergio Teniente and Jorge Sanchez.
