It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Myrna Guadalupe Piton on May 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on January 26, 1955, Myrna was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose vibrant spirit and unwavering love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Myrna dedicated her life to her family, embodying the role of a nurturing mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from gathering her family together, especially during the cherished Thanksgiving Day celebrations, where the warmth of her cooking filled the home with love and laughter. It was in these moments that Myrna shined brightest, creating lasting memories that her family will hold dear.
Beyond her devotion to family, Myrna found solace in the simple pleasures of life, often seen sitting outside with a cup of coffee in hand, lovingly tending to her cherished plants. She embraced every opportunity to dance, bringing joy and light to every gathering, an embodiment of happiness and the life of the party.
A lover of chance and excitement, Myrna took great pleasure in gambling and looked forward to her visits to L'Auberge in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she created many unforgettable memories with friends and family. Her legacy of love, laughter, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Carlos Piton; parents, Salvador Madrigal and Guadalupe Garza; and brother, Juan Madrigal.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Salvador (Erika) Cortes, Jessica Cantu, Martin Carlos Piton Jr., Vanessa J. Piton; grandchildren, Lauro Ivan Cantu, Alejandro Cantu, Salvador Emiliano Cortes, Dariana Cortes, Sebastian Cantu; siblings, Martha B. Madrigal, Salvador Alfonso (Gloria Sanchez) Madrigal, Jose Luis (Patricia Romero †) Madrigal, Irene Madrigal, Teresa Madrigal, and sister-in-law, Alicia Gonzalez Madrigal. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, June 6, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, June 7, 2025 departing at 10:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Martin C. Piton Jr., Salvador Emiliano Cortes Jr., Roberto Villarreal, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Lauro Ivan Cantu, Alejandro Cantu, Sebastian Cantu, and Salvador Cortes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Juan Madrigal, David Henry Piton II., Samuel Rivera, and Wilfredo Martinez Montero.
