Monica was a beloved daughter, cherished mother, devoted grandmother, who departed this life on May 23, 2025, in her hometown of Laredo, Texas. Born on April 8, 1976, Monica touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and zest for life.
She dedicated her life to her family, always the first to organize gatherings filled with laughter, love, and joy. Her heart radiated during special moments spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored passionately, sharing stories, encouraging their dreams, and cheering them on through there sports events that she would attend with boundless enthusiasm.
A woman of diverse interests, Monica loved to dance, her spirit ignited by the rhythm of life. Her affinity for nature drew her to the breathtaking beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park, where she found peace and solace in the embrace of the great outdoors. Shopping trips with her mother, Herlinda, turned into cherished traditions and memorable occasions filled with joy and togetherness.
Monica dedicated her professional life as a correctional officer with the GEO Group, serving her community with integrity and dedication. Her commitment to the well-being of others extended beyond her work and family; she was known for her love of reading, writing, and music, engaging in them not just as hobbies, but as forms of expression that enriched her life and those around her.
Left to cherish her memory her children; Sarah Lynette (Jesus) Vera, Jesus Rios III (Kassandra Gallegos) Lynda Lysette Rios, Enrique Juan Gonzalez, Elvis Joel Gonzalez; parents, Victor Manuel Mireles and Herlinda Mireles, grandchildren; Jesus Humberto Vera Jr., Melanie Vera, Jayden Vera, Penelope Rios, Savannah Rios, Athena Mireles, sister; Stephanie Mireles, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, May 28, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday morning, May 29, 2025 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jesus Vera, Elvis Gonzalez, Enrique Gonzalez, Jesus Rios, Martha Gonzalez, Wilbert Flores, Rolando Flores, and Victor Mireles.
