Miguel Gaytan

February 20, 1960 — September 9, 2021

Miguel Angel Gaytan, 61, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Founder of a famous local band known as Bahia Tropical; together with his talented brothers, nephews and friends also known as the Vaqueros De La Cumbia, would fill the famous Rolis Music Hall every Sunday. Where they played the famous cumbias “Todo se paga” and “Cumbia en Llamas” songs that made this band an all-time favorite. Mike, better known to family and friends was also respected as one of the best technicians among fellow musicians. His talent, his charisma as well as his unconditional love for his mother, father, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and all his family will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother; Maria Alicia Gaytan, daughter; Cynthia Lizbeth, sister; Martha A. Cuellar and step-son Gustavo Moreno.

Left to cherish his memory are his father; Miguel Gaytan, children; Miguel Gaytan, Jr., Michael Balam Gaytan, Cynthia Janet Gaytan, siblings; Francisco (Laura) Gaytan, Jorge (Maricela) Gaytan, Pedro (Samantha) Gaytan, Merced (Sara Alicia) Gaytan, Gabriel (Mirta) Gaytan, Adrian (Victoria) Gaytan and Alejandra (Armando) Garza. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Grandchild Aaron, Alexis, Destiny and Desiree Gaytan, step children; Jessica Hernandez, Frank Gomez, Edwin Moreno, Elva Moreno, Justin Moreno, Christopher Moreno and Ashley Moreno and numerous family and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and a Chapel Service will commence at 7 p.m.
