Mary Ruth Matthews

Mary Ruth Matthews, 84, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, June 17, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustavo and Margaret Ellen “Wita” Matthews; and by her siblings, Ethel Cherie Matthews, Gustavus Edward Matthews, William Alpha Matthews, Philip Coe Matthews, and Naomi Kathleen Matthews.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved daughter, Melissa (Richard Luis) Cantu; grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Cantu and Sarah Katherine Cantu of Katy, TX; and her sister, Elizabeth Matthews of San Antonio, TX; in addition to numerous extended relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday morning, June 21^st, 2022 at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery, 3200 N. Meadow Ave., at 10 a.m.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Vantage Hospice Nurses and Aides for their excellent care and support during this difficult time.
