Mrs. Maria Santos V. Rodriguez, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on April 12, 1938, Maria’s life was enriched by her love for cooking, watching “Novelas,” and listening to the beautiful music of Pedro Infante, Javier Solis, and Vicente Fernandez.

Maria found the greatest joy in spending time with her family, treasuring every moment shared at family gatherings and celebrations.   Her warmth, kindness, and love will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rodriguez Lopez; parents, Idelfonso and Perfecta Villanueva; brothers and sisters, and her grandson, Reynaldo Peña.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jose Rodriguez, Jr., Javier Rodriguez, Norma (Rogelio) Peña, Nora Rodriguez, Doris (Andy) Donovan, Gilbert Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez (Ramon) Chavarria; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous other loving relatives and friends. 

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, April 18, 2024, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, April 19, 2024 departing at 9:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be: Anthony Chavarria, Robert J. Chavarria, Steven Rodriguez, Andy Donovan, Gilbert Rodriguez, Roger Peña, Javier Rodriguez, and Kevin Rodriguez.
