Maria Francisca Ramirez Sanchez, a woman of deep faith, compassion, and quiet strength, was born on September 6, 1945, in Laredo, Texas. On February 14, 2026, she peacefully entered into the presence of God, whom she loved and served faithfully throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armando Manuel Ramirez and Josefa E. Sanchez de Ramirez; her beloved granddaughter Amy Canet; and her brother and sisters P.A. Ramirez, Maria Concepcion Ramirez, Arabela Ramirez, and Olaya Ramirez.
Maria Francisca is lovingly remembered by her children, Zoraida Canet and her husband Francisco Gonzalez, and Armando Manuel Canet and his wife Rosa Rios.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Julie Marie Canet, Leslie Canet, Alexis Canet, and Armando Manuel II Canet, and a loving great-grandmother to Brie Canet, Alex Canet, Remy Canet, Zendaya Scott, Nico and Elias Roque. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Dolores Ross, Ana Belia Ramirez, Lourdes Ramirez, and Abigail Barberena, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were deeply cherished and loved by her.
A devout Catholic, Maria Francisca was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where her belief in God guided her daily life.
She had a special love for animals, especially her parrot Pico and her cats. This love reflected the tenderness she showed to all living beings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the San Ygnacio Cemetery in San Ygnacio, Zapata County, Texas. Maria Francisca Ramirez Sanchez will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to family, her kindness, and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
