MARIA TERESA ARGUINDEGUI
June 7, 1963 – September 22, 2022
Maria Teresa Arguindegui was taken from us too soon when she passed away on September 22, 2022, at the age of 59. Maria Teresa is now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and surrounded by her loved ones in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ethel Martha Leyendecker Arguindegui and Peter Ramon Arguindegui Jr. whom she missed every day after their passing.
Teresa and her twin sister Estela were born on June 7, 1963. She was raised in Laredo, Texas where she gained lifelong relationships rooted in strong family values and bonds. Her enjoyment in life centered around her love of her many friends and family. Teresa had a heart of gold, she was kind, generous, and constantly went out of her way to help friends and family.
She graduated from United High School in 1981 where she was an outstanding scholar and all-star athlete. She went on to attend Texas A&M University and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Economics. She became an accomplished appellate lawyer after attending South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. She would make Houston, Texas her home.
Teresa would meet her husband and best friend Craig Keener in Houston. They spent twenty years together experiencing their love of travel, fly fishing, and attending fantasy hockey camps. Everyone who met her liked her immediately and she built many friendships in Houston, Pittsburgh and Spruce Creek, PA.
Teresa’s greatest source of pride was her family. She will be greatly missed by her step-children and their spouses, Shana Jacobs (Allen), Ashley Harris (Casey), and Rocky Keener (Ellen); and her grandchildren, Weston Harris, Ben Harris, Jackson Harris, Tommy Harris, and Alliana Jacobs. She loved and was loved by her four siblings and their families, Peter Arguindegui III (Amelie), Maria Estela Arguindegui-Johnston (Steven), Alfonso Luis Arguindegui (Alejandra), and Ethel Maria Arguindegui-Guerra (Luis). She was affectionately known by her family as “Titi”, a name given to her by her nephews and nieces, Amelie Arguindegui, Pedro Ramon Arguindegui IV, Alfonso IIlan Arguindegui (Paloma), Maximilliano Arguindegui, Alejandro Diego Arguindegui, Carlos Antonio Johnston, and AnaSofia Arguindegui. She is also survived by her loving aunts, Maria Teresa Arguindegui Regnier, Maria Estela Leyendecker Boudreau, and Victoria Leyendecker Duffied; as well as by her many cousins and their families.
The family will gather to celebrate and honor her life on Saturday morning, October 15, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2219 Galveston St., Laredo, Texas 78043.
