Maria A. Salinas

Maria A. Salinas, 82, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Geofredo Laurel and Elvira Cortinas; her husband, Fernando Salinas; and her siblings, Ana Maria (Jesus) Davila and Graciela (Gustavo) Davila.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sylvia (Avilio III) Peña, Yolanda (Luis Rey) Garza, Santiago (Sandra) Salinas, Araceli Salinas; her grandchildren, Luis Garza Jr., Kristy Garza (Raul Guerra), Samantha (Danny) Galloway, Cathleen Peña (Alec Gillian), Erika Peña, Kaitlin Peña, Shawntae Salinas; her grandpet Asher; her great-grandchildren, Adeline Gillian, Nia Galloway, Jaxon Galloway, and Zayne Guerra; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday morning, July 23, 2026 departing at 10 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Sacred Heart Mission Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Magnolia Cemetery in Mirando City, Texas.

Pallbearers will be: Luis Garza Jr., Juan Salinas Jr., Alec Gillian, Andy Garcia, Jerry Chavera, and Eduardo Salinas.
