Luis Santiago Solano

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luis Santiago Solano, who departed this world on August 23, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on February 3, 1968, Luis was a cherished son, brother, uncle, devoted educator, and an inspiring force in the lives of many.

Luis dedicated over 30 years of his life to the noble profession of education, serving as an educator in the Laredo Independent School District, Bandera Independent School District, and United Independent School District. He took great pride in imparting knowledge and nurturing the minds of his students, fostering a passion for learning that will resonate for generations to come. A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, which fueled his love for science and education.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Humberto Solano and Maria del Socorro Estrada; his siblings, Jose Humberto (Gloria Linda) Solano, Nydia Patricia (Timothy Alan) Kuhlman, Victor Manuel (Elsa Adriana) Solano, and Nancy Dolores Solano Estrada; and his nieces and nephews, Ava Marie Solano, Gabriel Kuhlman, Nathan Kuhlman, Catherine Kuhlman, and Eliana Maria Solano, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives and many friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, September 4, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday morning, September 5, 2026, departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
