He is survived by his wife Margarita Cardenas de Veliz, children Margarita Veliz, Veronica Maribel Veliz, Marisol Veliz, Abraham Veliz, Mariela Gonzalez, Leopoldo Veliz, Jr., Matilda Margarita Veliz and Roberto Anguiano Veliz, III; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as siblings Ramiro Veliz, Jr., Jose Veliz, Maria de Jesus Reyes, Maria Elena Rangel, Javier Veliz, Arnoldo Veliz, Vicky Ibarra, and Jorge Veliz.
