" I found that peace at the end of the day.-Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.-God wanted me now; He set me free!"

Mr. Lazaro Rios, 97, entered the arms of his loving father in heaven on Thursday, February 18, 2010 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Rios was the patriarch and the pillar of support of a beautiful and loving family who to the day of his passing were with him at his side.-He married his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Esperanza Rios.-Together they had seven children.-He taught them so much as they were growing up thus molding them to become well rounded men and women who could handle just about anything.-His children were his pride and joy, as well as his family who were always his highest priority.-He was also a gentle man whose sense of humor could never be forgotten.-Mr. Rios was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.-His caring and loving demeanor will be missed by all his loved ones and all who knew him.

Lazaro worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company and then retired from Inland Steel Company in East Chicago.-He was an avid and devoted Catholic who found time to read his Bible daily.-His other adoration was his dog Batman, a miniature pinscher.-We love you Dad, rest in peace.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucas Rios and San Juanita Alejandro Rios, brothers Jesus Rios, Jose Rios, Teodoro Rios, Narciso Rios and Blas Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife Esperanza Rios, sons Rodolfo (Norma) Rios of New Braunfels, Reynaldo Rios of Laredo, Hector (Hortencia) Rios of Laredo, Sergio (Larinda) Rios of San Antonio, daughters Hilda (Manuel) Castro of Corpus Christi, Dora Norma (Enrique) Flores of San Antonio and Imelda (Henry) Cuellar of Laredo.-He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

During his illness and up to his last days, we cannot forget to give thanks to Elmo Lopez,-Doctor's Hospital and Staff, Nurses on Wheels and staff,-and his attending physicians for having given their time, talent, and support to both Lazaro and our family during his illness.-The family would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Father John Jesus, Father Michael Torres and Msgr. Alex Salazar for all their sincere prayers and services.
