LAURA ALICIA ALMAZAN
SEPTEMBER 10, 1961 – JULY 9, 2018

“For I am already being poured out like a libation, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance.” 2 Timothy 4: 6-8

On July 9, 2018, our dearest spouse, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Laura Alicia Almazan finished her earthly race and has now received the crown of righteousness that awaited her. Laura was a fierce friend, a being that loved everyone she met. Her soul lightened up the room. She made many friends along her path, etched memories that will never be forgotten.

Laura Alicia was born in Laredo, Texas on the 10th of September in 1961 to Felipe D. Sr. and Soledad S. Jimenez; one of five children. She grew up and was educated in her hometown. She worked for the U.S. Government for almost 30 years and until the day she closed her eyes here on earth, she was an active employee. Her latest assignment was as a mission support specialist in the Laredo South Sector. There were many happy and proud moments that she shared with her countless colleagues that she was blessed to have worked with.

We are comforted with the fact that she was not only surrounded by her loving family, but also her colleagues, who have journeyed with her and with all of us, her family, during her last days. May God receive her into his kingdom and give her peace, and that we too may be reunited one day with her in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers and in keeping with her kind and loving heart, we would encourage you to consider a donation in her memory to the Laredo Animal Protective Society (L.A.P.S.), 2500 Gonzalez St., Laredo, TX 78040. We know she would be smiling in knowing every little bit would help our four legged friends.

Laura is predeceased by her parent’s: Felipe D. Sr. & Soledad S. Jimenez; brother: Felipe D. Jimenez Jr.; and father and mother in law: Gregorio and Macaria Almazan.

Left behind to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her husband: Jose Almazan; siblings: Luis Antonio (Linda) Jimenez Sr., Maria Teresa Jimenez, Elizabeth L. Jimenez; niece: Martha C. Jimenez; nephews: Luis Antonio Jimenez Jr. J.J. Jimenez and grand-niece: Crista Belle Lozano. She is further survived by her extend family the US Border Patrol.
