Mr. Juan Manuel Cavazos, Jr., 67, entered into the arms of the heavenly father on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at a local hospital, having been surrounded by his family. He was a probation officer for over 30 years with the Webb County Juvenile Detention Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Juan M. Cavazos Sr. and Dolores de Luna Cavazos; and sister: Elsa Castillo.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his spouse of 43 years of marriage: Mariaana Cavazos; children: Juan Manuel (Jessica) Cavazos III, Elizabeth Ann (Jose) Veliz Jr., Rachel Erica (Zaid Diaz) Cavazos, and Jorge Ivan (Melissa) Cavazos; and grandchildren: Damian Alexander Reyes, Ashley Cavazos, Darian Isaiah Reyes, Kimberly Ann Cavazos, Emily Lexin Cavazos, Alina Ruby Rubio, Juan Manuel Cavazos IV, Mia Zuejey Beltran, Jorge Ivan Cavazos, Jr. and Jose Veliz III. He is also survived by his siblings: Deborah (Aristeo) Canales, Joel (Evelia) Cavazos, Belinda (Earl) Granado, Laura (Christopher Degroot) Cavazos, Pamela Cavazos, Roberto (Anabelle) Cavazos and Gilberto Cavazos; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 4 until 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, TX 78041; Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Juan Manuel Cavazos III, Jorge Ivan Cavazos, Jose Veliz Jr., and Zaid Diaz.
