Juanita Tijerina, 47, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cayetano and Dora Tijerina; and maternal grandparents, Marcos and Maria de Jesus Arredondo.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Miranda Amalia Treviño; parents, Carlos and Juanita Tijerina; sisters, Amalia (Samuel) Cruz, Jr., and Linda Tijerina as well as sisters of the heart, Jacqueline Cuellar Spring and Virginia Crawford; niece, Faith D. Cruz; nephew, Samuel Cruz, III.; honorary parents-in-law, Charles and Irma Treviño; as well as their son and Miranda’s father, Carlos Joel Treviño. She also leaves behind the numerous Tijerina, Perez, Arredondo, and Garza aunts, uncles, cousins and other loved family and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, September 16, 2018 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m. Rev. Father Joel Perez will be reciting.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, September 17, 2018 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Rev. Father Joel Perez will be the celebrant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: Samuel Cruz, Jr., Matthew Spring, Cayetano Tijerina, Johnny Macias, Carlos Bustos Fernando Tijerina, Tano Tijerina, and Hector Tijerina.

Special thanks to Leticia and Bob Henry, Mario and Jasmine Sotelo, Sylvia Arreguin, Yolanda Gonzalez, Anna Hernandez, Gabriela Garcia and Jorge Pedraza, Gerardo Gonzalez, Dr. Ray Deeb, Tia Mine Perez, Estela Avalos, Tia Panchita Garza, Cordelia Perez (including the bake sale supporters) as well as the 2011-2012 Staff at United STEP Academy, Principal Selma Santos & Staff at Blessed Sacrament School, and Principal Olga Gentry & Staff at St. Augustine High School, and the late Petra Ruiz and Family. Their support was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
