Juan Francisco Lara, 81 years, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Enrique Lara and Rosa C. Lara; siblings: Javier Lara, Ramiro Lara and Jesus Lara.
Juan dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972, achieving the rank of Specialist. During his service, he was proudly awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Rifleman Badge, testaments to his commitment, discipline, and courage in the face of adversity. Mr. Lara will be remembered not only for his military service but also for the kindness and warmth he extended to all those he encountered.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 48 years of marriage, Noemi Lara, his children: Analiza (Ricardo†) Vasquez, Maritza Lara and Jaqueline (Alberto Hernandez) Lara, grandchildren: Ricardo Vasquez Jr., Addison Hernandez, Alberto Hernandez II, Camila Cisneros and Andrea Hernandez, siblings: Enrique (Hilda Sylvia) Lara Jr., Margarito (Irma) Lara, Ricardo (Maria) Lara, Jose Luis (Josefina) Lara, Victor (Gracie) Lara, Elsa Luce, Raul (Diana) Lara, Rene (Anabel) Lara, Isabel Lara and Gloria Lara, as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, March 24, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Veterans Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.
