It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Fernando Sanchez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and devoted friend, who left this world on January 22, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on December 12, 1948 in Corpus Christi, Texas, José exemplified the virtues of love, generosity, and hard work throughout his life, leaving an unforgettable impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Jose was honored with two Bronze Stars for his bravery and unwavering dedication to his country. His service reflects the deep sense of duty and commitment that defined his character. Beyond his military accolades, José was a loving patriarch, a guiding light for both his family and many others who found in him a father figure. He shared his wisdom and warmth with a heart full of kindness. José had an immense passion for music, particularly for playing guitar, which often served as the soundtrack to joyful gatherings and cherished memories. His love for life was complemented by his charm of humor; he was known as a big jokester, bringing laughter and light to those around him.

A true workaholic, José poured his energy into everything he undertook, always striving for excellence in his endeavors. José leaves behind a sprawling legacy of friendships, as his generous spirit touched countless lives. He will be remembered not only for his achievements but, most importantly, for the enduring love he shared with his family, friends, and beyond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Ramón Sanchez and Francisca Carlota Valdez; his son, José Fernando Sanchez Jr.; and his siblings, Felipe, Elizabeth, and Emma.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years of marriage, Maria Elena Sanchez; his children, Juan Javier (Daphne) Sanchez, Felipe Alejandro Sanchez, Cynthia Isela Sanchez, Araceli A. (Victor) Pruneda, Fabian Ricardo Sanchez, David Sean Sanchez, Maria Cristina (Adán) Gonzalez, and John Gabriel (Michelle) Billings; his grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Amy, Destiny, Sophia, Alessandra, Victor Jr., Makayla, Christian, Fabian Jr., José Fernando, Natalie, and Adán Jr.; his great-grandson, Liam Joseph Sanchez; and his brothers, Rey Sanchez and Juan Sanchez; as well as other relatives, and friends.
