Jose Maria “PEPE” Reyes Jr.
April 8, 1923 – June 4. 2018

Jose Maria “Pepe” Reyes, Jr., 95, entered into eternal rest Monday, June 4, 2018. As a young man his passion for playing baseball was evident throughout his life. He was a man of routine and discipline and loved to engage in conversation with everyone. He was a compassionate, simple and humble man who always put family first. Everyone knew that his children were his greatest pride and joy and a close second was his love for his country. He was a proud army veteran of World War II who held his patriotism to heart. Mr. Reyes was a civilian aircraft welder in the United States Airforce for 34 years. After his retirement he taught welding with LISD before retiring from the state at the age of 70.

Mr. Reyes was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Jose Reyes; siblings Soledad and Beatriz Reyes; and his wife, Olga Reyes.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Thelma J. Martinez, Federico Martin (Sandra) Reyes, and Beatrice H. (Cesar) Flores. He was uncle to Yesenia Sanchez who he proudly walked down the aisle. He was a proud grandfather to Kristina, Vanessa, Valeria, Michelle, Federico Jr., Jose Isaac, Miguel, Joselyn and Marco. He also had numerous great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Myrna Cantu his caregiver for 7 years and his primary nurse Juan Pablo Lopez.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
