Mr. Jose F. Cortes, 84, entered into the presence of the Almighty on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at a local hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Enrique and Maria Guadalupe Cortes; brother: Enrique Cortes and great-granddaughter, Gabriela Morales.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his spouse: Eliza M. Cortes; children: Ana Elisa (Oscar H.) Flores, Luz Cristina (Steven) Seamone, Maria Guadalupe Casas, Myriam S. (Jose) Gomez; grandchildren: Oscar F. Flores, Ana Maria (Daniel) Morales, Steven A. Seamone, Douglas F. Seamone, Cristina I. Casas, Anelle E. (Mario) Giron, Lorena A. Gomez, Daniel J. Gomez, Rebecca O. Gomez; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Sarah, Brandon and Ethan Flores, Daniel Juan Pablo, Juan Diego, and Liliana Morales; sister: Irene (Salvador) Cortes-Contreras and brother-in-law Juan Jose (Mercedes) Medina; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive condolences from 4 to 9 in the evening on Monday the 11th of September 2017 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel, 719 Loring at Cortez; a Rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 9:40 in the morning on Tuesday the 12th of September 2017 to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 in the morning.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
