Jesusita C. Luna, 97, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Jesusita was a lifelong resident of Laredo. She lived her 97 years as a dedicated daughter, devoted wife, exemplary mother and a loving, lifelong teacher to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passions were gardening, cooking and enjoying life with her family whom she prayed for everyday of her life. She was a devoted Catholic and raised her children with strong values and dignity. Her teachings led her children to be ambitious and build dignified lives. Jesusita was a strong and independent woman and lived proudly on her own to the end.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Ramiro Luna, her parents; Federico Cantu and Dionicia Ybarra-Morlett, son and daughter in-law; Guillermo Martinez and Belinda G. Luna, also her siblings; Bessie G. Reeves and Maria Andrea Ibarra.
Left to cherish her memory her beloved children; Imelda L. Martinez and Ramiro Luna, Jr., grandchildren; Alina M. (Rahul) Walia, Alissa C. Martinez, Lorinda L. (Caesar) Harris, Larissa L. (Jorge) Davalos, Ramiro Luna III and great grandchildren; Cristian R. Luna, Leandra B. Davalos, Jorge X. Davalos, Leelah I. Davalos and numerous family and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, March 31, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, April 1, 2022 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ramiro Luna Jr., Ramiro Luna III, Rahul Walia, Caesar Harris, Jorge Davalos, Alberto Camacho Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lorinda L. Harris
