Jesus Lara, Sr., 70, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Jesus Lara, Sr. was born in El Centro, California, and was raised in Laredo, Texas. He was known by all who knew him as humble and kind. He enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors with his children and grandchildren, and also enjoyed watching old cowboy movies. He worked most of his life in the oil fields.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Rosa C. Lara, Sr.; his brother Jose Javier Lara, and his nephew Enrique Lara III.
Left to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gloria Villarreal Lara; children, Jesus Lara, Jr., Luis Alberto (Laura) Lara, Jessica (Juan Alaniz) Lara, Kimberley Lara, Lindsey Lara; grandchildren, Jesus Lara III, Justin Lara, Jeremy Lara, Luis Alberto Lara, Jr., Lizzette Lara, Leroy Lara, Jenevie Anahi Jaime, Janelle Gabriella Alaniz, Aleena Sepulveda, Ariella Sepulveda, Javier Peña, Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren, Avery R. Ramirez and Janeah M. Lara. He is also survived by his siblings, Enrique Lara (Sylvia) Lara, Jr., Juan (Noemi) F. Lara, Margarito (Irma) Lara, Ricardo (Maria) Lara, Ramiro (Esther) Lara, Jose Luis (Josie) Lara, Victor (Gracie) Lara, Elsa (Mario Benitez) Luce, Raul (Diana) Lara, Rene (Annabel) Lara, and sister-in-law, Isabel Lara. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, July 7, 2022, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, July 8, 2022, departing at 11:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jesus Lara, Jr., Juan Alaniz, Luis Alberto Lara, Jr., Jesus Lara III, Javier Villarreal, and Leroy Lara.
