JAIME BENAVIDES
OCTOBER 31, 1967 – NOVEMBER 4, 2020
Mr. Jaime Benavides, 53, entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2020 at his residence in Laredo, Texas.
Jaime or Gordito as he was called, fought the Good life. At a young age, he was besieged with several illnesses. But he never gave up. He was a fighter and a survivor. He loved his family and lived for his three beautiful dogs Chucky, Chuchita, and Princess. He loved to play with them and take them out at night to enjoy a trip around town. Jaime was a very savvy and intelligent person. He could work miracles from fixing air conditionings to working with electronics. He was also a fantastic mechanic – no job was too difficult for him fix. He was a talented and gifted musician who loved playing and singing with his guitar. Jaime’s profession was a professional truck driver. During his working years, he enjoyed traveling all over the states in his tractor trailer. He loved to haul trailers throughout the United States from the East Coast to the West Coast. He loved cooking carnita asada and loved eating good food.
He is preceded in death by his father Trinidad Benavides.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved mother: Isabel Molina Benavides; siblings: Jorge (Rebecca) Benavides, Isabel Valdez, Sylvia (Ray) Wick, Trinidad (Griselda) Benavides, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Jorge Benavides Jr., Elizabeth Belcher, Victor Benavides, Claudia Benavides, Danny Valdez Jr., Nathan Wick, Isabel Torres, Melissa Benavides, Amy Allen, Christina Benavides, as well as their respective families. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19 limitations, all attending the funeral service must wear a mask while inside the funeral home as well as other locations that will be included as part of the funeral service. Capacity is limited to 75 people inside the funeral home at any time. We ask that you wait in your vehicle or outside the building should the capacity be at its maximum.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 5 to 9 pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.
All services will conclude at the church.
Pallbearers will be: Trinidad Benavides, Jr., Ray Wick, Jorge Benavides, Jr., Victor Benavides, Roberto Molina, Nathan Wick, Andrew Belcher, and Saul Flores.
