Isabel R. Martinez, having completed her centennial birthday just two months earlier, was welcomed into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Saturday, May 13th, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by: her beloved husband, Isauro Martinez, Jr.; parents, Manuel J. Raymond and Santos Zapata Raymond; sons, Isauro Martinez, III., and Evan L. Martinez; sons-in-law, Roberto Garza and Lawrence Link; as well as by her brothers and sisters, Adolfo Raymond, Teresa Flores, Consuelo Kazen, Gloria Woods, Mary Sanchez, and Manuel J. Raymond, Jr.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are: her eight children, Celina (Roberto †, Daniel) Garza Ridge, Laura (Lawrence †) Link, Mario (Elizabeth) E. Martinez, Maria E. “Lulu” (Javier) Garza, Sarita E. Martinez, David (Patricia) G. Martinez, Rosario (John) Hickle, and Sylvia (Jon) Theissen; her thirteen grandchildren, Cristina (Fabrizo) G. Copano, Evan Garza, Claudia Veronica Link, Analisa (Victor) G. Sengele, Francisco G. Garza, Mario E. Martinez, Jr., Rebecca Martinez, David G. Martinez, Jr., Jennifer (Clement) M. Muller, Teresa I. Martinez, Joshua Theissen, Matthew Theissen, and Kayla Hickle; and her two great-grandchildren, Grace Isabel Sengele and Nino Roberto Copano. She is further survived by her sister, Zita (Bill †) Coffey; brother, Rolando (Amadita) Raymond; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday morning, May 18, 2023 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 8:30 a.m.
Funeral Services will depart at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. John Neumann Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Rite of Committal & Inurnment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Francisco G. Garza, David G. Martinez, Jr., Mario E. Martinez, Jr., and Joshua Theissen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Evan Garza, Matthew Theissen, and Eddie Sanchez.
