Irma R. Vasquez

May 31, 1930 — February 19, 2022

Julia Irma R. Vasquez went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 19, 2022. She was the loving and only daughter to Raul Ramos M. and Hortencia L. Ramos. Her father was born and raised in the 700 Block of Zaragoza St. opposite the Fernando Salinas Historical Home now entrance to Int. Bridge I. So was his only daughter, Irma. She will be remembered by family and friends as caring and extremely generous.
She was an avid reader well versed in geographic, historical, political and cultural topics and events. She traveled extensively and even copiloted the family Cessna plane, all while only in her mid-20's. She was called (Señora Bonita) by renowned Mexican Actor Pedro Infante who loved to fly. He was most impressed with her pilot skills when he once requested last minute Charter travel to Monterrey, N. Leon and later to Mérida, Yucatán just 2 years and 9 months respectively prior to his fatal plane crash where he perished.
Irma's knowledge of the Bible was most impressive. She would quote scripture verbatim and interpret passages extensively. She was active in Missionary work at an early age. She loved horticulture which she learned from her mother.  Fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables were always plentiful in her great recipes and her rose breeding abilities produced a uniquely varied and most admired rose garden. In later life she became a Teacher's Assistant and referred it to a teacher position to dedicate more time to her students and avoid the paperwork and red tape.

She was preceded in death by her husband Esdras Vasquez and her son J. Ovidio Gutiérrez.

She is survived by her daughters Irma Hortencia G. Fernández Durance (Neely); Martha G. Haynes (James) dc'd; Patricia V. Arámbula Rodríguez (Richard) and Mary Lou V. Ramirez Garza (Hugo). Her Grandchildren Ovidio Gutierrez (Flor); Raul Gutierrez; Raquel Gutierrez (Gerry); joe Fernández; Elisa M. Fernández; Vanesa D. Pérez (Andy); Jessica D. Lopez (Noe); Deborah Lee Haynes McClure; Jaymeson J. Haynes; Matias Arámbula III (Brittany); Daniel Arámbula (Marisol); Irma Esther A. Borup (Brandon); Israel Ramírez, Jr. (Janelle); Ivette Ramirez and Ivan Ramirez; Great-Grandchildren, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and other relatives.
