Humberto Vela Jr., R.N.

Humberto Vela, Jr., R.N., 63, was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 29, 1962, and lived a life characterized by his unwavering love for his family and friends.

Humberto was preceded in death by his beloved father, Humberto Vela Sr., and his cherished sister, Berta Esther Vela. 

He is survived by his devoted mother, Ludyvina Vela, and his beloved son, Alejandro Vela. Humberto is also remembered by numerous relatives and friends whose lives he touched with warmth and kindness. His legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, May 1, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday morning, May 2, 2026 departing at 9 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Xavier Hernandez, Julian Vela III, Julian Thomas Vela, David Vela, Servando Leal and Dan Vela.
