HOMERO V. RAMIREZ
March 30, 1937 – March 3, 2021
“When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things, we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you
And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think that we’re apart,
For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.”
Homero Ramirez, 83, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Humble, TX. He will always be remembered for his humor, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. A native Laredoan, Homero started as a migrant worker before providing transportation to other workers in different crops. He then became a driver carrying fruits and vegetables for distribution. Later, he carried tile, which he drove and exported from Nuevo Laredo to Houston. He made Houston his home and became the CEO of Ramirez Tire Shop. His sons each operated their own branches throughout the Houston area. Upon retirement, he enjoyed visits from his children and grandchildren. He celebrated two successful Ramirez family reunions where the Ramirez legacy was honored. In 2017, his family surprised him with an elaborate 80th birthday celebration where he laughed, cried, and relished his time surrounded by his loved ones. His hard work ethic and dedication was instilled in each and every one of his family members, his legacy of determination and enterprise will forever be carried on in the hearts and minds of his kin.
