Dr. Henry S. Carranza, 81, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Dr. Carranza's journey was marked by his service as a United States Marine, embodying the values of honor and courage. Following his military service, he pursued higher education with fervor and earned a Doctorate's degree. His commitment to service extended beyond the confines of his professional life; he was a mentor, a friend, and a compassionate presence to all who were privileged to know him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna V. Carranza, and parents: Henry Garcia Carranza and Maria Molina Carranza.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Marie Jane Thompson, grandchildren: Kristian Carranza and Dereck Thompson, brothers: Benny Carranza, Ramon Carranza, Richard Carranza, and Ruben Carranza, niece: Evelynn Webster, and dear friend of the family: Maria Elena Montemayor, as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, March 27, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, March 27, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 6:30 p.m.

A private cremation will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to the Laredo Organized Volunteers for the Elderly and Disadvantaged.
